Why Work With Kereen McPherson?

Kereen has been involved in quality management for over twenty years from her first job in the Trinidad and Tobago Bureau of Standards where she was introduced to ISO standards.  Kereen has worked in quality management standards in corporate quality, health and safety; environmental management, testing laboratories and higher education. Her experience includes enforcing regulatory compliance.

Kereen takes a tailored approach to each client engagement.  She does this whether she is conducting audits at a testing laboratory or offering training at a higher education institution.

Kereen was involved in assisting in making decisions on the suitability of new sites for training institutions.  That is, from a health and safety perspective.  Kereen safeguarded the institution’s interest as well as its stakeholders such as staff and students.

As a Quality Auditor, Kereen has done audits, produced audit reports with recommendations and has demonstrated that she can provide independent assessment of clients’ Quality Management Systems.  This impartial perspective can uncover blind spots, identify areas for improvement and drive positive change within the organization.

Kereen can offer strategic guidance and direction to help clients align their quality initiatives with broader business objectives.  One client wanted to improve employee satisfaction.  They ran surveys.  The company went further and addressed an issue raised in the survey.  Those employees who had their issue addressed were happy but the organization did not let all staff members know that they had actually shown that they listened to feedback given.  Kereen simply advised to issue documentation to all of the members of staff who were unaware of what management had done.  She believes that this will assist in meeting the company objective of improving the level of satisfaction of staff.

Working with Kereen would be an opportunity to experience capacity building.  Kereen is the published author of “Synergy Unleashed: Mastering Integrated Management Systems (IMSs) for Success”.  Clients would get assistance developing documented information for Stand-Alone Management Systems as well as Integrated Management Systems. 

She is a Certified Communicator from Toast Masters and a local, regional and international conference presenter.  She is well-qualified to do workshops or seminars.  She was a presenter or co-presenter of conference papers when she worked at organizations such as the National Training Agency (NTA), The Accreditation Council of Trinidad and Tobago (ACTT) and The University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT).  Kereen has also done presentations for KQM.

Lastly, as mentioned before, Kereen is a Quality Auditor.  This certification was received from the University of the West Indies’, Institute of Business (IOB).

Kereen not only provides solutions but transfers knowledge, skills and best practices to KQM’s clients’ teams, empowering them to sustain improvements over the long term.

What Sets Kereen Apart?

Kereen demonstrates flexibility in responding to changing circumstances, unexpected challenges and evolving client needs.  For example, when a client planned a seminar, dates were set and when the scheduled start date was rather near, the client informed Kereen that the seminar would be held at a later time. On hearing this officially, Kereen pivoted to facilitate this change in date.

Kereen takes a holistic approach to quality management and considers not only processes but also people, culture and organizational dynamics. For example, in her book, “Synergy Unleashed: Mastering Integrated Management Systems (IMSs) for Success”, she recognizes that some persons may have challenges embracing an IMS.  In the book, she proposes coping strategies to address this such as distributing regular communication bulletins from management, providing additional training and forming cross-functional teams.

Kereen has had over 20 years’ experience in quality management   This has spanned sectors such as corporate quality management, health and safety, higher education, environmental management and testing laboratories.  This allows her to provide tailored solutions that address the specific needs of clients in that industry.
